Hello All Survivors!

This is going to be quite a short and sweet post because there isn’t actually that much to say about it to be honest. I mean, I could try and ramble on about something topical or some controversial matter to get people chatting, but, I can’t be arsed!

This is something that I only actually found out recently because well, I didn’t know it was there, didn’t bother looking and there’s no tutorial for the game so I wasn’t even told about it! I am in my own little bubble most of the time and I’m a bit of an idiot too. But what am I talking about? Well, as if the huge title at the top didn’t give it away, I’m talking about the Quick Slot.

There is a feature in the game that allows you to create a Quick Slot or Quick Item on your main screen when you’re in a zone. It allows you to quickly choose the item you’ve put inside it and use it. Very handy for food/bandages when you’re running low on health and don’t want to go into the inventory.

Now if you take a look at the general inventory screenshot above, there’s nothing totally obvious to show you, well there wasn’t for my tiny mouse brain. But if you look on the right hand side, you’ll see a little greyed out picture of a pocket. At first I thought that this was another upgrade slot for carrying another backpack or something. Saying it back to myself now sounds stupid. But it’s actually your quick save slot! Literally all you have to do is drag and drop what you want into it and voila!

You can see here that I’ve put in some delicious carrot stew that I’ll now be able to access via the quick slot on the main screen. It’s literally that simple! The only thing that actually made me notice it was that someone commented on reddit (thanks @trlrprkboy81) and stated that it had been there since the start of June! So this whole time I’ve been playing I could have used it. I hope I’m not the only ignorant person out there that didn’t notice it because that would make me sad.
